It’s been a longstanding goal of mine to successfully grow fresh herbs.
I’ve bought and killed innumerable basil, rosemary, even mint plants.
MINT. I’ve killed mint. An organism not even respected with the title of “plant” in most gardens but instead considered a snarling weed.
Earlier in the summer I bought two basil plants with the goal of growing them large enough to be able to pick leaves off to use in cooking without stripping it bare in a week.
The first month I got some decent growth but a yellowing leaf gave me the idea to relocate the basil from the sunny kitchen window to my blast-furnace of a bedroom window.
When those plants died after a two day lapse in watering, my boyfriend helpfully explained, “well if someone left you on that windowsill with no water for two days, you would die too.” thanks, hunnybunny.
The good news is that I’m not discouraged and will not give up.
I’ve got some new puppies growing – in containers (with drainage) that the cat cannot knock over.
As you can see, the watering can is conveniently located nearby.
CAN SHE DO IT? Let’s wait and see.
